what is your opinion of this statement?
by Education i am referring to the school/college curriculum

I could see this in a standard Liberal Arts environment, but not in something career oriented, like a Culinary Arts or Hospitality program.

That said if you are one of the herd, then you have to know the language in order to get by or hopefully progress, so learning the language is essential.
